Sound Healing
of Vail

Guided sound experiences that use rhythm, vibration and tone to help you slow down, reset and reconnect — centered on Jake’s Beam, an instrument you don’t just hear. You feel it.

Jake Wolf's custom Beam — wolf etched into the strings, illuminated under purple light
The Wolf Beam · seven feet of aluminum, eleven strings, one low D you feel in your chest

The Beam.
Sound you feel.

At the heart of every session is the Beam — a rare instrument invented by Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead and built for Jake by hand. Its strings are tuned so low that the sound moves through the room and the body as vibration: a foundation of tone that invites deep listening, rest and release.

  • Invented by Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead — created to produce deep, resonant tones that blur the line between rhythm and melody.
  • Jake’s is the first-ever custom Beam, handcrafted by Eric Mitchell and presented by the Grateful Guitars Foundation.
  • Seven feet of aircraft-grade aluminum, eleven custom strings tuned in two octaves of D — with the lowest strings sounding at 36 Hz, low enough to feel in the body.

Recognized by the Grateful Guitars Foundation

A rare honor.

On January 23, 2025, at Cervantes Masterpiece in Denver, the Grateful Guitars Foundation presented Jake with the first custom Beam it has ever gifted — a one-of-a-kind instrument, handcrafted for him by luthier Eric Mitchell. It is both a working instrument and a work of art, and it now carries Jake’s carved wolf emblem on the fretboard.
